Ceannabháin, or bog cotton, grows in the peat bogs and moorlands of Ireland and Scotland. In folklore, its white tufts were thought to be fairy seats and could ward off evil, sometimes kept as protective charms. Ecologically, it helps form peat, stabilizes bog surfaces, and supports wildlife. Symbolizing endurance in harsh conditions, it reflects the resilience of the people of these landscapes.
