"Pandora" the goddess of curiosity

Curiosity—the strong desire for knowledge—drives many of our human activities. It's widely recognized as a blessing, but have you ever wondered if it could also be a curse? There are tales like Pandora's box that suggest it might be, but interestingly, there's no scientific evidence to prove it one way or the other.

In Greek mythology, Pandora was the very first woman. After Prometheus, a tricky fire god, stole fire from heaven and gave it to humans, Zeus, the king of gods, wanted to balance things out. So, he asked the god of fire and craftsmanship to create Pandora and endowed her with amazing gifts from all the gods. But Pandora also had a jar filled with all sorts of misery and evil.

As you can guess, curiosity got the better of Pandora, and she opened the jar, unleashing all the bad things upon the world. Only hope remained inside, as the lid was quickly closed before she could release it.
