The Greeks believed that after death, a soul went on a journey to a place called the Underworld

In the myths of African cultures, in the beginning there was no death. This can be because a supreme being makes people young again when they grow old; people die but go to heaven to live.

In Irish myth there is another otherworldly realm called Tech Duinn ("House of Donn" or "House of the Dark One"). It was believed that the souls of the dead travelled to Tech Duinn; perhaps to remain there forever, or perhaps before reaching their final destination in the Otherworld, or before being reincarnated.

Regardless of what happens after we die, the message of this painting is to cherish and embrace life, striving to be the best version of ourselves. We should live each moment to the fullest and appreciate the journey we are on, making the most out of our time here.
